Whether you know Brother Cleve from the tiki world, as a member of Combustible Edison, as a globe-traveling DJ, or because he turned around the East Coast cocktail scene (among other notable projects and accomplishments), you have undoubtedly been touched by this legendary man’s knowledge, stories, and generosity.
The world lost him suddenly in September of 2022, and we are all still feeling it. There aren’t many people who can leave an impression, and a hole, like Brother Cleve. He is very missed by all of us, and I wanted to make a little something to commemorate him.
Being a luminary of cocktail culture, the “pour one out” trope seemed befitting for him. “Brother Cleve 2022” is reverse engraved into a wooden bottle silhouette, stained a golden pecan, hand painted in white and metallic gold, then sealed. A boozy amber drip morphing into a musical note melding his two biggest passions, dangles from the mouth of the bottle.
It measures about .75” x 2.5” when straight up and down. The pin has double butterfly clasps, and the backs are signed.
